Angels, be present!

There are a lot of things I do that could qualify me as crazy: I won't walk on our bathroom floor in bare feet, I won't build a sand castle because I hate getting my hands dirt-dirty, I won't use the utensils at work because they're washed with a sponge vs. a dishwasher...
There are other things that make me feel crazy but I have to acknowledge I'm not.
Spiritual sensitivity.

In this area that makes me feel crazy, I have to resist the urge to say, "I'm making this up," and to press forward in prayer and invitation toward others to pray with me.

When my son was about three months old I began having vivid visualizations and feelings of the presence of evil in our home. It scared me, it forced me out of my house, and it made me invite prayer warriors in. What I learned in a more real way than I ever had was that spiritual warfare was alive and active.

It has been a little over a year since I have felt anything like that in our home but recently it has returned. For the past two weeks, my son has awoken in the night around midnight routinely, crying. Every time I go to him, I walk in his room and feel scared. I feel something beyond my understanding.

I crawled into his bed with him last night as he screamed. I faced him and the wall and I had a very strong fear of keeping my back to the door. I eased myself out of his bed as he calmed down to lay on the floor but felt fear again. I did not want to lay myself down beside his bed, I felt there was something under it. I felt surrounded by a presence of evil in the most innocent room in our home.

I began to pray again as I do when I tuck him in, "Lord, put your angels in all four corners of his room, put your angels above all four corners of his bed..."

As I tried to fall asleep myself, I was struck with anxiety. My life felt like chaos. I felt like any decision I made or have been considering was wrong. My body was seized with a racing heart and the weight of my own bloodstream surging through my veins.

I am overwhelmed with a presence of something that seems crazy but is so real! If you have a moment today, would you say a prayer for our home? Specifically, would you pray that His presence come in, in abundance, that His truth be all that the walls of our home can hear, that our son's room be erased of all evil and surrounded in the sounds of angels breathing.

His love abounds!

  1. Praying for you and your family! I know from experience how defeating spiritual warfare is. It is such a scary thing. I have personally been through a battle but I can’t imagine how scary it would be the have my child with me. But God is bigger and greater than Satan, and He is everywhere. He WILL fight for you and your family.

    Psalms 91: 4-6
    He will cover you with His feathers,
    and under His wings you will find refuge;
    His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
    You will not fear the terror of night,
    nor the arrow that flies by day,
    nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
    nor the plague that destroys at midday.

    PS- I flush all toilets, yes even in my own home, with my feet and I won't eat ribs because they are too messy, even thought they always look SO good. Just thought I would throw in some of my quirks!

  2. Dear Lord, please come into this home, into these hearts, and give them peace. Lay Your hands Lord on this house and this family like only You can do. Amen.
    (PS: I can only set my alarm clock for 4:28am, not 4:30 but 4:28...strange, I know)

  3. Oh Allegra,of course I'm praying for your family and home. It's your safe haven. May he wrap your family tightly in his embrace.
    P.S.
    here are just a few of my issues:
    I can't sleep on my side of the bed when my husband is gone, it has to be on his side with my face to the door and i check my on my children 2 times during the night.
    I can't drink a beverage without a staw at a resturant, and hotels... oh my don't sit on the bedspreads... my heart races when my kids think it's funny to torture me and touch them!
    we all have quirks :)
    that make us uniquely us,
    xo,

  4. Praying for your family and your home. I understand where you are coming from completely. I have been a little haunted lately by all the new on child abductions and I find myself gripped with fear at night that someone is going to come steal my daughter but have to surrender to the Lord and have faith.

    P.S. Love your blog. :)

  6. Oh, Allegra. I sometimes have some of the same fears. Sometimes anxiety creeps in and it is overwhelming. I do believe that we are under attack, especially in the moments when we start pulling closer to the Lord. I will say a prayer of protection over you and your family. Know that He is always with you. Big hugs.

  7. Allegra,

    I will pray for you as soon as I am done typing this. I promise I will. I have had you on my heart for a while now. I prayed for you this morning in fact. I am so glad that you are asking for us to pray....because it works. I pray that His peace which surpasses all understanding will fill your heart.

    Hugs,
    Adrienne

  8. I know Spiritual warfare - it IS alive and well.

    I will be praying for your home, your precious family and for your heart.

    Katelyn wakes up at least once a week with a 'bad dream' - our #1 answer is pray and He will take away the fears and fill your heart. He does!!!

    I love you, Legs - LOVE LOVE LOVE you!!

    (and just got sad I'm not going to see you over Christmas. BOOOO)

  9. I can totally relate to this! I've had serious battles with fear all throughout my life, and have experienced a lot of discernment about spiritual warfare on many occasions. We plead the blood of Jesus over that house! There is nothing, no presence, no spirit of darkness, no amount of anything that hasn't already been defeated when Jesus died on the cross. At that moment, He fought all our battles and won them. Anytime satan comes against us trying to use fear and doubt, we need to remind him that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and love and a sound mind. You just remind that spirit of darkness that Jesus has already kicked his hiney and that it had better just LEAVE in JESUS name. Speak the name of Jesus and all imaginations and things that exalt themselves above God must come under His authority. It's not our words that make it happen, but His!

  11. Girl get some oil and annoint every window and door. Speak authority over those spirits they are real...and God has given you discernment about that. Plead the blood of Jesus over your home and ask him to bind any spirit of fear, anxiety, evil and loose the exact opposite...faith, peace, freedom in His name. I will pray with you.

  12. I will never forget my Jr. High youth leader telling us that while God can hear our thoughts and prayers Satan can not so we need to verbally tell him to get out he is not working, and I know the bible says what we bind on earth is bound in Heaven and what is loosed on earth will be loosed in Heaven. Father I pray for your peace and protection around Allegra, Christan and Ashton. Comfort them, hold them and remove all fear. Father I pray that you clean their home from the foundation to the roof top. These are your children and you have them protected in the palm of your hands. Thank you father for giving Allegra the supernatural ability to sense when things are not what they should be and thank you for her openess to request partners in prayer. Father I pray that when she walks into her home this afternoon she feels your overwhelming presence dispelling any ill feelings she is recieving and that Ashton will sleep through the night with your peace and comfort. Thank you father for this family, thank you for protecting and providing for them

  14. ugh! my husband thinks i am crazy sometimes because i wake him up in the middle of the night and walk around the whole house just because i felt something was wrong!
    trust it!
    i once had a friend in elementary school that lived in a VERY OLD home by the battlefields in Virginia...and EVERY time she asked me to spend the night I would call my mom crying because I always felt like something was there that could hurt me. I got made fun of at slumber parties...but I KNEW that was NO place for me!
    I will pray for you!!

  15. oh...both of my kids went thru periods where they would wake up at EXACTLY the same time for nights in a row. I called the dr and it could be night tremmors. I would just set an alarm and go in there and rotate them around before they woke up to switch their sleep pattern...and it worked.
    just an idea. :)

  16. I am praying for you that you will be able to overcome this bad presence. I know how you feel. These verses helped me before. Remember to give it to God and He will get you through this. God can do all things. Pray to Him and He will make this evil go away.
    Many blessings,

    Ephesians 6:12-18

    12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

    13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

    14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

    15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

    16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

    17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

    18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching there unto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

  17. I agree with Farmgirl Paints. When stuff like this would happen in our home my mom would anoint all the doors and windows with oil in the sign of the cross. Also have the gang come over and all pray together over your home. Every room and everything in it.

  18. Wow, I just read this and I pray that you now have peace in that room. I'm praying!
