The hus and I were recently on a desperate hunt for the Midge's crib blanket.
I'm talking a serious hunt....undoing the boxes of packed up baby clothes, going through the garage, and emptying out every cabinet.
The problem with doing such a thorough search is the opportunity to find buried memories.Memories like this basket from hell.
Technically, I think it's the basket from the Garden of Eden since that's where, thanks to Eve, we were sentenced to painful childbirth...
po-tay-toe, po-tah-toe

HA!!! THAT IS THE FUNNIEST THING!!! I REMEMBER TAKING ALLLLLLLLLL OF THOSE MESH UNDIES AND TELLING MY DR I NEEDED MORE! LOL!!!! JUST THE SITE OF THAT MAKES ME WANT TO CROSS MY LEGS AND CRINGE! i AM ACTUALLY CROSSING MY LEGS AS I TYPE THIS! THAT IS WHY MOST 2ND CHILDREN ARE MADE ON NIGHTS OF VERY GOOD HAPPY HOURS. HA! ACTUALLY...THAT'S HOW BOTH OF MINE CAME ABOUT!
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny! Thankfully, my days of needing that basket are long gone...! You got a good laugh out of me though....I still remember those days VERY WELL! Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI was an only child for seven years and I was okay :) Although, I wouldn't trade my sister for anything!
ReplyDeleteSo funny, and sooooo true! Isn't it amazing what we will do to ourselves in the name of motherhood! So my trick was to wait until 12 years later to have the second one, that way I forgot EVERYTHING! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI am so laughing! I think I have one of each item that you have in your goodie basket. Reminds me of this girl I knew who got pregnant with her 2nd baby when her first(that she just so happened to have a c-section with...) was a mere THREE MONTHS OLD. Yeah, well, it took THREE MONTHS of TLC before I could even uncross my legs.
ReplyDeleteAnd the nursing pads...I think I should be part owner of Lansinoh.
Thanks for the grin...and the painful memories. :)
LOL! This was so funny! Yeah, the good ole mesh panties, GINORMOUS pads, and Tucks! Fun times....thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteLOL - I feel ya girl! Just seeing that stuff makes me cringe a little (or a lot). AND there are plenty of only children out there :)
ReplyDeleteNothing like a great reminder to come up and smack you in the face!
ReplyDeleteOh my word you just made me spew my vino on my pjs, it was that or choke on it from laughing so hard... i wouldhave never guessed that's how you got your blog name!! HAHA
ReplyDeleteI agree with your discovery ... ouch! i just found my bag from the hospital in my sons closet while i was searching for winter clothes.
i love your blog!!!

You are killing me. Why did you even keep that crap? I am crossing my legs right now...thanks a lot!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm speechless. Thank for making me even more excited to have kids :) Just kidding. I love your posts!
ReplyDeleteThat is the funniest thing ever. I always wondered where you got the name. Oh you are bringing back some painfilled memories. It only lasts for short time though right?:)
ReplyDeleteah....just the smell of dermoplast takes me right back to those moments. i try hard to not remember!
ReplyDeleteOOOOOH, MYYYYYY, WOOOOORD! That is HILARIOUS!!!! Did I spy Tucks? Hemmies SUCK! This is seriously one of the funniest posts I've read in a while!
ReplyDeleteOMG. All's I got to say is: C-SECTIONS RULE! :) we don't require mesh chonies.
ReplyDeletexoxoxo

sometimes i wonder how i did it three times. i love babies and wish i was younger i think we'd probably have a 4th but the thought of all that all over again. i can relate :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I wasn't expecting that last line at all, and it made me bust out laughing.
ReplyDeleteI've seen the title of your blog on other websites and wondered,"What does that mean, anyway?"
Well, now I know. It is actually the reason I came visiting tonight. Seriously. I said to myself,"I wonder what that can mean. Let's see."
And, there you go! Those who seek shall find. :)
You may not believe it, but eventually you might forget all the trauma...or at least have it turn in to more of a haze.
Hi! I'm new here, and this is actually the first thing I read on your blog and just wanted to say...as a never-before-pregnant person who'll be trying to conceive later this year, I am completely and utterly traumatized.
ReplyDelete*Gulp.
I'll still be back, though. I love your humor! :)
